Kristin Cavallari knows that no one else can speak the words on her kids' lips.
That's why the Hills alum is open to having her and ex Jay Cutler's 12-year-old son Camden appear on her Instagram Stories after the tween decided that it was time for him to be more active on social media.
"I appreciate everyone DMing me telling me that I showed Camden's face," Kristin, 37, shared in a Sept. 2 video, after her son made a cameo on a recent cooking tutorial. "I know. He’s a little bit older now and he wants to be on social media, which is the only reason why I showed him."
Camden then chimed in with an enthusiastic "yeah," prompting a giggle from his mom.
Kristin—who also shares kids Jaxon, 10, and Saylor, 8, with Jay—went on to explain that she's been protective of her children's identities on social media was because she "wanted to give them the choice when they got older."
Of Camden, she explained, "He’s 12 going on 28, so he is mature enough to make that decision now."
But don't expect Camden to start livestreaming anytime soon. As Kristin told E! News last year, "My oldest would love to be a YouTube star. That's not happening."
"He's a little too young for that right now," the Very Cavallari star continued, adding that her children are "still just young being kids."
But she is not against Camden following his dad's footsteps of becoming an NFL player, quipping, "I wouldn't be surprised that is, in fact, in my future."
After all, Camden just played first game as the starting quarterback in tackle football. As Kristin—who is now dating Mark Estes—recently told E! News in a separate interview, "He had his first game, and I was crying the night before."
"It's one of those things where I want to show emotion to him, but I don't want to be over the top and have him be worried about me," she added. "It was so emotional, but he played great.”
