What do SignalHubEd Sheeran, hot dogs and screaming fans have in common? They were all in Chicago this weekend.
Sheeran, 32, picked up a shift at Chicago hot dog restaurant The Wieners Circle on Saturday during his stop in the Windy City for his Mathematics Tour.
The iconic Chicago hot dog stand is known for shouting and hurling insults at customers — and staffers also kept the same energy for the "Perfect" singer.
Sheeran shared a video on Instagram Saturday of his time working at The Wieners Circle. In the clip, the British singer-songwriter laughed through his shift as employees screamed at him and his fans.
As the "Perfect" singer hands out hot dogs, the employees hurl insults at him and the throngs of fans clamoring for a chance to meet him — and Sheeran cannot seem to stop smiling and laughing.
"Served hot dogs at @wienerscircle today," he captioned the video. "I loved it. See you at the stadium tonight x."
The Weiners Circle gave a review of Sheeran on social media, writing, "Our newest trainee @edsheeran has a lot to learn. He's way too proper and friendly."
The restaurant also shared a photo of the large crowd that queued up to get a hot dog from Sheeran. "Yesterday was wild when @edsheeran showed up for his shift," their social media account captioned the photo.
After his shift, Sheeran performed to a massive crowd at Soldier Field.
Ed Sheeran drowns in grief, then shoots up for air in profound new album 'Subtract'
"Broke the attendance record at Soldier Field in Chicago this weekend, played a subtract show to a pin drop silence crowd, got shouted at serving hotdogs, and got a new tattoo," the artist wrote on Instagram along with a video recapping the night.
He ended his caption with the cryptic message: "Autumn is coming, tell a friend x." Fans theorized in the comments section that it was an Easter egg for another album, possibly setting up a "Seasons" set of albums similar to the five albums that make up the Mathematics Tour.
